Der Klavierzyklus „Bilder einer Ausstellung“ – Erinnerungen an Viktor Hartmann ist eine Komposition von Modest Mussorgski aus dem Jahr 1874, die allgemein als ein Musterbeispiel für Programmmusik gesehen wird. Die einzelnen Sätze beschreiben Gemälde und Zeichnungen seines im Jahr zuvor gestorbenen Freundes Viktor Hartmann, die Mussorgski auf einer Gedächtnisausstellung gesehen hatte. Diese Bilder sind heute nicht bekannt. Die Komposition hatte ein gemeinsamer Freund, der Kunstkritiker Wladimir Stassow, angeregt, der auch an der Namensgebung der Stücke beteiligt war und dem der Zyklus gewidmet ist.

Das Werk, welches den Charakter eines russischen Volksliedes besitzt, wurde von Mussorgski für Klavier solo konzipiert, doch regte der Reichtum der Klangfarben des Zyklus schon früh andere Komponisten an, das Werk auch für Orchester zu bearbeiten. Die bekannteste Bearbeitung ist die von Maurice Ravel, die die Popularität des Originals mindestens erreicht, wenn nicht sogar übersteigt

The piano cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition" - memories of Viktor Hartmann is a composition of Modest Mussorgski from the year 1874, which are generally considered a model example of program music is seen.
